Williams Selyem
Founded in 1978 by Burt Williams and Ed Selyem. Pioneered the vineyard-designate movement and established Russian River Valley as a world-class Pinot Noir appellation. Majority-owned by the Faiveley family. Winemaker: Jeff Mangahas.
Winemaking stewardship
Williams Selyem has sourced Ferrington fruit since 1992, when Burt Williams established the winery’s vineyard-designate Ferrington Pinot Noir with John Thomas Ferrington.
From 1998 to 2014, Bob Cabral was director of winemaking at Williams Selyem, during the years the winery’s Ferrington-designate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay became a reference point for Anderson Valley. Jeff Mangahas, who had worked alongside Cabral, succeeded him as winemaker in 2014 and continues that stewardship today.
